The Global Entrepreneurial Talent Management 4 (GETM4) project convened in Dublin for an intensive week of collaboration, knowledge exchange, and strategic planning. Hosted by TU Dublin, this international gathering brought together experts, researchers, and practitioners to explore innovative approaches to talent management, entrepreneurship and digital impact.
Setting the Stage
The event commenced on Monday, January 22nd, at TU Dublin’s Grangegorman campus. Attendees registered amidst a buffet lunch, setting the stage for what promised to be a dynamic week. The opening ceremony, held at St. Lawrence’s Church, where Dr. Brendan Jennings, Vice-President for Research and Innovation at TU Dublin greeted the participants, featured a thought-provoking address by TU Dublin’s Head of Computer Science School, Dr. Paul Doyle and Prof. Alison Pearce, GETM4’s Project Lead, who introduced the project’s objectives and emphasised the importance of fostering entrepreneurial talent.
In-Depth Discussions
Tuesday, January 23rd, delved into substantive discussions. Led by Prof. Mark Bailey, sessions explored the concept of “deposits” – what participants can contribute) and “withdrawals” – what they can take away. Engaging conversations ensued, with attendees sharing insights and experiences.
Research Streams and Strategy
Wednesday, January 24th, shifted focus to research streams. The leads guided participants through a comprehensive world tour of project components. From deliverables to action plans, attendees explored strategies for maximizing impact.
Steering Committee Insights
Thursday, January 25th, was reserved for the Steering Committee. At TU Dublin’s Central Quad, Grangegorman campus, committee members engaged in strategic and essential discussions.
Reflecting Amidst Natural Beauty
The week concluded on Friday with a day tour in Glendalough, in Wicklow County – an opportunity to step away from meeting rooms and immerse in Ireland’s natural beauty. Against the backdrop of rolling hills and ancient monastic ruins, participants could have a moment to refresh their minds after this intense week of work meetings.
